David Martinez is a 17-year-old street kid from Santo Domingo, Night City. He is a talented hacker and fighter, and he dreams of being an edgerunner, a mercenary outlaw.

David's life is changed forever when his mother is killed by a gang of thugs. In her dying breath, she tells David to find a way to survive in Night City.

David decides to become an edgerunner, and he soon joins a crew of mercenaries led by Santiago Maine. David quick proves hisself to be a valuable asset to the crew, and he soon becomes one of his most trusted members.
